October 2026
Training • Community • Student Success • What’s Next
October is a month of preparation and progress at PTC Zone. We are continuing our youth mentorship work in the community, helping students prepare for the next tournament, growing our women’s kickboxing program, and getting ready to make improvements inside the studio.
Thank you to every family and community partner who continues to train with us, recommend us, and support what we are building.
October at a Glance
Please make note of this month’s tuition deadline, Monday Youth Class change, and our next tournament opportunity.
Tuition Due
October tuition is due Monday, October 5. Keeping accounts current helps us plan responsibly and continue providing the small-class environment our students benefit from.
No 5:30 PM Youth Class
While Coach Arturo continues the mentorship program with Overtown Youth Center, there will be no Monday 5:30 PM Youth Classes during October. All other classes will continue as scheduled.
Free Tournament
The Martial Arts Foundation Free Tournament will be held Friday, November 6, at Joseph C. Carter Park Gym, 1450 West Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.
Building Self-Defense in Our Community
We are continuing to build our Women’s Kickboxing Program with practical training, fitness, and confidence-building sessions offered Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM and Saturdays at 9:30 AM.
Classes are $20 per drop-in session or $150 per month for unlimited classes. Participants may bring their own boxing gloves or order a pair of 12-ounce pink gloves through the studio for $25.
Student Spotlight
Growth becomes visible when a student keeps showing up, asking questions, and practicing through the difficult moments.
PTC Winner of the Month: Breyanna M.
No apologies! Breyanna has shown great improvement and is gaining more confidence in her training.
Continue to ask questions and practice hard—it shows in every class. We are proud of the progress you are making, Breyanna.
This Month’s Leadership Lesson
Leadership is not about being the best. It is about making everyone else better.
Confidence is not an apology, and leadership is not a title. Both are built through effort, responsibility, and the willingness to help the people around you improve.
Training Update
More Self-Defense & Sparring
All students will need sparring gear as we increase opportunities to practice self-defense and controlled sparring in class.
For in-class sparring, the minimum required equipment is a pair of approved gloves. For tournament sparring, students will need a complete set of approved protective gear.
PTC Zone can help members order equipment at competitive prices through our martial arts vendors.
Competition Is Optional
Students do not have to compete to be an important part of our team. Tournament training is available for students who want the extra challenge, but every student belongs here.
The November 6 tournament is free and gives interested students an accessible opportunity to challenge themselves, gain experience, and support their teammates.
Please Pre-Book Your Classes
Advance booking helps us prepare better classes, manage attendance, schedule activities, and make room for new programs. Same-day booking is not available, so please reserve your session at least one day in advance.
Help PTC Zone Grow
PTC Zone is intentionally a small studio. That allows us to know our students, provide individual attention, and create a place where no one gets lost in the crowd. Small studios grow through the support of their communities.
Leave a Google Review
Thank you to everyone who has already left us a review. Your words help new families discover PTC Zone and understand what makes our programs different.
Bring a Friend Wednesday
Know a child, family member, friend, neighbor, or coworker who might enjoy martial arts? Invite them to try a class with you on any Wednesday.
Sometimes the best new student is simply someone who needs an invitation through the door.
What Else Would You Like to See?
We are looking to expand the youth programs offered at PTC Zone and connect with instructors whose work complements our mission.
If you know an instructor, trainer, or youth-focused program that needs a welcoming space to teach classes, please share our Community Partner page with them. We want the studio to become a place where young people can train, learn, create, compete, and grow.
Looking Ahead
Over the next few weeks, we will be renovating and updating parts of the studio. Please pardon the mess while we make the space better for our students, families, and growing community of programs.
We are continuing our community partnerships, preparing students for tournament season, expanding opportunities for women and youth, and building a studio that can serve more people without losing the personal connection that makes PTC Zone different.
Thank you for being part of PTC Zone—and for growing with us.
